Device Cloud Pricing

Device Cloud pricing is a subscription fee for connecting a device to a device cloud.

Subscriptions are based on the total number of devices that connect to the device cloud and you only pay for the devices that actually connect to the cloud. The permits you or your users to decide on a per-device basis whether cloud-based management is required.

Billing is performed at the end of each month for usage during the month. For the first billing period, the price will be calculated pro rata.

Dedicated device clouds have a base fee in addition to the per-device fee. See below.

The device cloud subscription is in addition to the Device Agent Pricing.

Free Ioto Evaluation

You can evaluate Ioto for free using the pre-created Eval cloud. This includes the ability to embed Ioto in one device, connect to the eval cloud and run the eval developer device manager from which you can manage your device.

Volume Scale

Device clouds have a per-device subscription fee. This is calculated according to a sliding scale where the per-device price decreases with increasing numbers of devices connecting to the cloud.

The following price table shows the device subscription price brackets at increasing device volume levels.

The indicated price is the subscription price is the price per device per year once that volume level has been reached for the month.

Volume Price
1-9 $35
10-99 $8.80
100-999 $2.20
1000-9999 $.55
10000-99999 $.14
100000+ $.05

Dedicated Clouds

Dedicated device clouds run the device cloud in your own AWS account. Dedicate clouds offer the ultimate in security and control and provide a suite of additional AWS services and customization together with the highest tier support.

If you expect to create more than 1,000 devices over the lifetime of your product, you should use a dedicated device cloud for your production deployment as hosted device clouds are limited to 1,000 devices.

Dedicated clouds have a flat $1,000/month fee in addition to the per-device fee.

Pricing Example

For example: If you have 1001 devices connecting to the cloud in a month, the calculation for a hosted cloud would be as follows:

  • First device -- free
  • Devices 1 to 10 -- $35 each
  • Devices 11 to 100 -- $8.80 each
  • Devices 101 to 1000 - $2.20 each
  • Device 1001 -- $0.55

So the annual cloud subscription would be: $35 x 9 + $8.80 x 90 + $2.20 x 900 + $0.29 * 1

Annual Total: $3,087.29

The monthly subscription would then be: ~$258
